So, my job saga looks like it’s coming to a close. On Thursday last, I was told the deal is on and Human Resources (I hate that word) were being informed. The trouble with HR people is they are very bureaucratic and whatever they do takes time. My sponsor is keen for me to join her – “We have a need, you have a requirement” – and I am keen to move, if only to avoid what looks like a grim outlook in our department.
My dilemma is that the news has got out and rumours abound regarding my future plans. I am naturally nervous while I wait for the conclusion. As to my release from my current job, that may be a point of negotiation.
